Garden Design and Garden Decoration in Ankara
We turn your garden and terrace into spaces you can use like another room of the house, designing seating, dining, relaxation and play areas with the same care as your interiors.
Overview
Many gardens go unused even though they are beautiful. There is no shade, it is dark in the evening, the seating area is overlooked by the neighbours, or the ground turns to mud after rain. In our garden design service in Ankara, we first talk about what your garden should do for you: breakfast, large dinner parties, a place for the children to play, or a quiet reading corner?
For 20 years, Çayyolu Architecture & Construction has worked in areas with many homes with gardens, such as İncek, Gölbaşı, Beysukent and Çayyolu. In our garden decoration projects we bring paving, drainage, lighting, pergolas and shading, outdoor furniture and planting together under a single plan. With solutions that take Ankara’s harsh winters and hot summers into account, we aim to keep your garden looking well cared for in every season. You can get the initial assessment started quickly by sending photos of your garden via WhatsApp.

Villa garden design
We divide the entire outdoor area into zones, from the entrance axis to the back garden, creating a coherent layout with pathways and changes in level.

On roofs and terraces we create container gardens, seating and shaded areas while taking load-bearing capacity, waterproofing and drainage into account.
Seating and dining areas
We design seating and dining areas you can use in every season, with timber decking, natural stone or concrete paving slabs.
Pergolas and shading
With timber or metal pergolas, awnings and planted canopies, we extend the space you can use in summer.

A Closer Look
How to Design a Small Garden
The most common mistake in small gardens is dividing the space into too many little sections. Instead, a single, clearly defined seating area, vertical planting along the edges and a limited palette of materials make the garden look larger. Using walls and fences for climbing plants, vertical planter systems or timber panels provides privacy while keeping the ground free.
Folding or multi-purpose outdoor furniture, built-in bench seating and raised seating ledges with storage underneath make a big difference in a small space.
- A single focal seating area and simple paving
- Vertical planting on walls and fences
- Seating elements with built-in storage
- Warm-toned lighting that extends evening use

Which Season Is Best for Garden Landscaping?
Structural work such as paving, pergolas and lighting is best done when the ground is not frozen and rainfall is relatively low. In Ankara, this work is usually planned for spring and autumn. For planting, spring or autumn is preferred depending on the species, so that plants are well rooted before the summer heat or the winter cold arrives.
Planning during the winter months means you can start without delay when the working season comes. We complete the design and material selection early and schedule the work according to suitable weather.

Unseen but Essential: Drainage and Groundwork
Garden landscaping carried out without thinking about where rainwater will go causes problems at the first downpour: standing water, ground settlement or damp on basement walls. Before work begins, we plan the falls, the drainage line, the pipe routes for the irrigation system and the lighting cables. Where areas adjoin the building wall, we address them together with foundation and basement waterproofing if needed.
This preparation keeps the garden trouble-free in the years ahead: there is no need to break up the ground again for a lighting point or a new irrigation zone you want to add later. That is why our construction drawings also show spare cable and pipe ducts for needs you may have in the future.

0312 240 51 51How much does villa garden landscaping cost?
The cost depends on the size of the garden, the paving material, structural elements such as pergolas and lighting, and the choice of plants. After a free site visit, we prepare a clear, itemised quotation.
Which season is best for garden landscaping?
Spring and autumn are generally suitable for structural work. We complete the planning beforehand and schedule the work according to suitable weather conditions.
How should a small garden be designed?
A single, clearly defined seating area, vertical planting, a limited palette of materials and furniture with storage make a small garden look larger and more practical.
What should be considered when creating a roof terrace garden?
The load the terrace can carry, the condition of the existing waterproofing and drainage are the most important issues. We check these on site before any heavy planters or paving are installed.
Do you also supply the garden furniture?
Yes. We supply weather-resistant lounge sets, dining sets and, if required, made-to-measure built-in seating, all in keeping with the design.
Our garden has no irrigation system. Can one be added later?
Yes, it can; however, the cleanest result is achieved when the pipe routes are laid before the paving and planting are done. In an existing garden we choose routes that keep digging marks to a minimum, and we divide drip and sprinkler lines into zones so that water only goes where it is needed. With a timer-controlled unit, your garden is watered regularly even when you are not at home.
