Café Interior Design and Fit-Out in Ankara
For a café remembered as much for its space as for its coffee: design and fit-out from a single source, from concept to bar counter.
Overview
People choose cafés not only to drink coffee, but to meet friends, read a book, work on a laptop or take a short break. That is why the space itself matters as much as the menu in a café’s success. Well-planned café interior design in Ankara encourages customers to stay longer, come back and recommend the place to others.
At Çayyolu Architecture & Construction, we draw on 20 years of experience to take on café fit-out, café design and café renovation projects in Ankara, from concept development through to turnkey delivery. Whether you are opening your first café, launching a second branch or want to give your existing space a new look, we start by understanding your business model.
Our Services
What We Do in Café Interior Design
Concept and story
We translate your café’s character, target customers and the experience it offers into a single design language, so the space tells its story at first glance.
Bar and counter design
We plan the barista workspace, machine layout, and ordering and pick-up points in a flow that avoids queues.
A variety of seating
We arrange different seating types for quick breaks, long conversations and laptop work in a balanced way within the same room.
Lighting and atmosphere
We create a layered lighting scheme that moves from a bright morning feel to a warm evening ambience.
Display and merchandising
We design display areas that boost sales of desserts, sandwiches and packaged products, at eye level and within easy reach.
Café renovation and infrastructure
We coordinate technical work such as water and drainage lines, electrical load, ventilation and flooring with the design.

A Closer Look
How Do You Design a Small Café?
Many cafés open in a limited floor area, and that need not be a disadvantage. To make the most of every centimetre in a small café, we recommend full-length banquette seating along the walls, folding or lightweight furniture, high counter seating and vertical storage solutions.
Light-coloured surfaces, mirrors and well-placed lighting make a space feel larger than it is. By installing an orderly storage system behind the bar, we make the staff’s job easier and avoid a cluttered look. If the shopfront allows, a seating corner visible from the street can become your café’s natural advertising space.
The paths of customers who stay for a long time and those placing quick takeaway orders should also be kept separate. Placing the ordering and pick-up point near the entrance and moving the seating area to a quieter corner lets you comfortably offer two different experiences, even in a small café.
02
Opening Schedule and Budget Planning
In a café investment, the opening date is planned together with the start of the lease, equipment delivery, staff training and promotional activities. Whether the fit-out keeps to this schedule has a direct effect on the business’s first months. After the site visit, we draw up a work programme around your target date and start producing the furniture and counters at the same time as the site works.
Allocating the budget correctly is just as important as the schedule. Investing in the points customers see and touch most, while using durable and economical solutions behind the scenes, noticeably improves the result. The duration depends on the scope of the work; we provide a written work programme and, after the site visit, a clear quotation.
03
Hygiene, Safety and General Compliance
In any business serving food and drink, easy-to-clean surfaces, enough handwashing points, properly working ventilation and a safe electrical installation are basic requirements. Keeping escape routes clear and fire safety measures should also be considered at the design stage. We help you prepare the drawings and technical information you may need during the business licensing process.
- Non-slip, easy-to-clean flooring in wet areas
- Sufficient electrical circuits for the coffee machine and refrigeration
- A customer toilet designed in keeping with the concept
- Socket access for customers working on laptops

0312 240 51 51How much does café interior design cost?

I am looking for an interior designer for a café or clinic in central Çayyolu — what is included?
Our office is in Çayyolu. We manage the whole process from a single source, including the site visit, layout plan, concept design, technical infrastructure, execution and bespoke furniture. For clinic projects, you can also take a look at our clinic interior design page.
How do you design a small café?
Full-length banquettes, high counter seating, light-coloured surfaces and vertical storage make small cafés feel bigger. During the site visit we decide together on the best layout for your space.
Can we refurbish our existing café without closing?
If only decorative refurbishment is involved, we can spread the work across closing hours and sections. Changes to the bar and plumbing may require a short closure; we plan this together in advance.
Do you make the counters and furniture for café renovations?
Yes. We make the bar counter, banquette seating, shelving and display units to measure for your space.
