Tell us about your kitchen project in Oran

When starting a kitchen renovation in Oran, the first thing we usually ask is what you can see from the kitchen window. In the high-rise residential blocks on the southern slopes of Çankaya, the view and the daylight are a flat’s most valuable assets; yet in many kitchens the wall cabinets crowd the window and the worktop turns its back on the light. In our kitchen cabinets and kitchen design projects in Oran, we arrange the layout to put that value first.

Alongside large complex flats, the neighbourhood also has groups of villas with gardens. As Çayyolu Architecture & Construction, with 20 years of experience, we approach the cabinets and worktops in kitchen renovations in Oran together with the plumbing, electrical capacity and ventilation, and after the site visit we provide a clear quotation and a written work schedule.

    Our Services

What We Focus On in Oran Kitchens

The topics we work on most often in high-rise flats and villas:

    01

A worktop that faces the view

We turn the sink or preparation worktop towards the window and keep wall cabinets away from it, bringing the light deep into the kitchen.

    02

    Open-plan kitchens in large flats

When opening up the kitchen in complex flats with spacious living rooms, we confirm through a licensed engineer’s assessment whether the dividing wall is load-bearing.

    03

    Islands and pantries in villas

In villa kitchens, we separate preparation and storage with an island and a pantry, and create a serving point close to the terrace.

    04

    Electrical capacity and consumer unit

During the site visit we take into account the load of the built-in oven, induction hob and other appliances and, if necessary, plan consumer unit and circuit upgrades with a licensed electrician.

    05

    Pipe and valve renewal

We renew the sink and dishwasher connections together with the old pipes and valves, reducing the risk of having to remove the new worktop later.

    Plumbing works →

    06

    Made-to-measure cabinets and internal fittings

In large kitchens, we create an orderly storage system with a wall of tall units, a pantry column and deep drawers.

Putting Light and View First in High-Rise Complexes

In Oran’s high-rise flats, the kitchen is often set against the facade and has a large window. In older layouts, this window may be surrounded by wall cabinets, with the worktop left facing the wall. In a renovation, turning the preparation area towards the light, avoiding wall cabinets at window level and concentrating storage in tall units makes the kitchen feel noticeably more spacious.

On high floors, the effects of wind and sun are also felt. We assess, in line with the building management’s rules, whether to vent the cooker hood through the facade or into the existing ventilation shaft, and for sunny kitchens we recommend door finishes that resist fading.

In large complex flats, the relationship between the kitchen and the dining area also matters. A peninsula at one end of the kitchen or a breakfast bar facing the living room brings everyday breakfast into the kitchen, leaving the dining table for entertaining. A pantry or a wall of tall units, meanwhile, meets the storage needs of larger families without cluttering the worktop.

    • A preparation and sink worktop facing the window
    • Storage concentrated in tall units
    • A cooker hood outlet that complies with building rules
    • Sun-resistant door and worktop surfaces

    02

Kitchen Cabinet Styles in Oran: Layouts Shaped by the View

In Oran’s high-rise flats, the kitchen layout is often dictated by the window. A U-shaped layout centred on the window places the sink facing the view, while the two side arms are given over to cooking and storage. If the window is in a corner, an L-shaped layout keeps the area around the window clear by dedicating the long arm to tall units and built-in appliance columns. In flats with spacious living rooms, an island added to the L-shaped layout connects the kitchen to the dining area.

In our kitchen design projects in Oran, where kitchens enjoy plenty of daylight, we consider the door finish together with the light. In a modern style, handleless doors with a recessed profile support the clean, airy look of a high-floor flat. In villa groups, framed doors in a classic or country style are preferred for a warm kitchen connected with the garden and terrace; in large villas, using different tones for the wall of tall units and the island helps balance the volume.

    • A U-shaped layout centred on the window
    • An L-shaped layout with tall unit columns for corner windows
    • Adding an island to an L-shaped layout in large flats
    • Classic and country styles in villas, modern handleless doors in flats

    03

Choosing Doors, Carcasses and Worktops for a Sunny Kitchen

In Oran’s large kitchens, the items that most affect the price are the total run length and the internal fittings. These are complemented by the door type, the type and thickness of the worktop, built-in appliances, removal of the old kitchen and changes to the plumbing and electrics. By showing each item separately in the quotation, we help you see together where savings can be made.

On high floors, the sun can fade a poorly chosen door over time, while in the kitchens of larger families heavy use comes to the fore. This is how we compare the options:

    • Lacquer: a soft, silky surface; requires care against knocks and scratches, and colour choice matters on sun-facing elevations.
    • Acrylic: a glossy, easy-to-clean surface that reflects light; well suited to modern flats.
    • Membrane (vinyl-wrapped): allows profiled door shapes; needs care near sources of heat and steam.
    • Laminate: durable, economical and scratch-resistant; suitable for heavily used family kitchens.
    • Carcass: moisture-resistant board in the sink and dishwasher areas.
    • Worktop: quartz composite offers stain resistance and easy maintenance, granite and natural stone offer heat resistance and natural texture, and compact laminate is a slim, economical solution; with light-coloured worktops, stain resistance becomes even more important.

    A Closer Look

Electricity, Gas and Water: Safe Infrastructure

Today’s kitchen draws far more electricity than it used to. When a built-in oven, induction hob, dishwasher and small countertop appliances run at the same time, an old installation can struggle. In our kitchen remodelling projects in Oran, we inspect the existing consumer unit and circuits during the site visit and, if necessary, include separate circuits and consumer unit alterations by a licensed electrician in the kitchen works from the outset. During the site visit, we check the breaker capacity and the cable cross-sections to confirm which appliance will be supplied by which circuit.

If a natural gas hob is to be moved, or you are switching from gas to an electric hob, the line alteration may only be carried out by an authorised firm, with the approval of the gas distribution company. For the plumbing, we also recommend replacing old pipes and valves along with the new kitchen. If underfloor heating is being considered, we plan the floor renewal and cabinet layout together, so that newly finished walls and floors do not have to be opened up later.

The First Step for Your Kitchen Project in Oran

In a large flat or a villa, the kitchen gains value when it speaks the same language as the rest of the home. If you would like to consider kitchen design decisions in Oran together with the living room, dining area and hallway, take a look at our home interior design in Oran page. In villas, we address the transition between the kitchen and the terrace, and on garden floors the relationship between the kitchen window and the garden, within the same project; choosing flooring and lighting that harmonise with adjoining spaces gives the whole home a consistent look.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find the answer you are looking for? Give us a call — we will listen to your project and answer your questions right away.

    0312 240 51 51
Can we vent the cooker hood through the facade in our high-rise flat?

Because the facade counts as a shared area, the rules of the building or complex management are decisive. If the existing ventilation shaft is suitable, we use that first; if a facade outlet is needed, we include management approval in the process. Depending on the kitchen’s position, we also consider a recirculating hood with filters that does not vent outside.

We want to switch from a gas hob to an induction hob. What should we do?

On the electrical side, a separate circuit of adequate cross-section and a check of the consumer unit are required; we do this with a licensed electrician. Disconnecting or altering the gas line is carried out by an authorised natural gas firm and completed with the approval of the gas distribution company.

What determines the price of a kitchen renovation in Oran?

The price depends on the size of the kitchen, the cabinet and worktop materials, the built-in appliances and the scope of the electrical and plumbing changes. If some of the existing cabinets are to be kept, this is also reflected separately in the quotation. After the site visit, we provide a clear, written quotation.

How can we connect the kitchen to the terrace in our villa?

We look on the plan for the point where the kitchen can connect to the terrace by the shortest route and place a serving counter there. For families who enjoy eating on the terrace, we also suggest a cabinet next to the counter for trays and serving equipment. If a new opening is needed in the facade, a licensed engineer’s assessment and the municipal process come into play.

We want a light-coloured worktop. Quartz or granite?

Because stain resistance matters most with light colours, quartz composite is generally the easier choice; thanks to its non-porous structure, stains wipe away easily. Granite and natural stone are more heat-resistant, but with light tones, surface care becomes more important.

When do you take measurements, and is the worktop template separate?

We take initial measurements during the site visit and check the final dimensions after the old kitchen has been removed. The worktop template is taken separately once the carcasses have been installed; the window sill area and corner joints are prepared according to this template.

Do you come back to adjust the doors after handover?

Yes. All doors and drawers are adjusted at handover; if hinges or runners settle during use, just let us know and we will schedule an adjustment visit.
